In the modernised world, an increasing proportion of professional and crucial work is being carried out with extensive technological aid, and with <strong>accelerating pace<\/strong>. Younger generations who grew up alongside these technological changes would be better adapted to said advancements in the current world of work. Older generations, on the other hand, would have a much more <strong>strenuous <\/strong>time dealing with these changes. Consequently, elderly workers would not be as productive as younger workers due to their lack of experience and familiarity with the current digitized working environment. Thus, keeping senior workers in the workforce for longer than advised would <strong>detriment <\/strong>the economy as a result of lowered productivity.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Secondly, older generations staying in the workforce for an extended period of time would mean increased unemployment rates for younger generations. With the rising automation of the contemporary economy comes the fall of job opportunities for an ever increasing population. As a consequence, later generations are at a constant risk of unemployment. In such conditions, if older generations were to prolong their working life, they would be occupying the only positions left in the industry.
