In contrast, a <\/span><b>humble <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">portion of students for whom English is a second language and those born outside Australia enrolled in the English department and the lowest <\/span><b>participation rates<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> among these two groups were seen in the History department, with just 10% of ESL students and 18% of students born outside Australia. Participation in modern languages was notably high among all three groups, with 63% of female students, 54% of students born outside Australia and 41% of ESL students choosing this field.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Regarding the natural science discipline, which shows more presence of the other two groups, it is also noted that the <\/span><b>disparity <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">in participation was not as pronounced across the three groups. Physics, Chemistry and Matchs attracted between\u00a0 43% and 47% of students born outside Australia, slightly higher than the 32% to 38% range for ESL students.
