Both Asia and South and Central America displayed relatively <\/span><b>modest <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">consumption levels at 25.8 kilograms and 23.6 kilograms per person, respectively. Africa, however, had the lowest potato consumption, averaging only 14.1 kilograms per individual.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Regarding production, Asia <\/span><b>emerged <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">as the largest producer, <\/span><b>generating <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">131.2 million tonnes of potatoes, slightly ahead of Europe, which produced 126.3 million tonnes.
