Spanish nationals accounted for only 71,000, making them the smallest group. Meanwhile, Germany had the highest total of foreign nationals (1,198,000), including a significant population of Italians (556,000) and Poles (426,000). Germans living abroad were fewer in number, with only 104,000 residing in the UK and smaller figures elsewhere.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In contrast, Poland had the smallest foreign population, totaling just 6,000, with 4,400 Germans forming the majority. Spain and Italy had larger foreign populations, hosting 861,000 and 196,000 people, respectively.
