I’m going to talk about Tao Dan Park, which is undoubtedly one of the most magnificent green spaces in Ho Chi Minh City. Strategically located in the heart of District 1, it’s a bit of a commute from my house, but it’s absolutely worth the trip.

I first discovered this place about two years ago when a club in my department organized an outdoor outing there. Since that day, it has become my go-to destination whenever I have some leisure time. For me, Tao Dan Park is like a serene oasis right in the middle of the bustling urban landscape. As soon as you step inside, you are greeted by lush green vegetation, towering ancient trees, and a remarkably tranquil atmosphere that contrasts sharply with the chaotic traffic outside.

The park is a favorite haunt for locals of all generations. If you visit in the early morning, you’ll see elderly people practicing Tai Chi, while in the afternoon, the playgrounds are filled with children’s laughter. One of the park’s standout features is the exquisite flower garden. It is a sight to behold, especially during the Lunar New Year when it is adorned with vibrant blossoms and artistic floral displays.

What I cherish most about this park is that it provides a welcome escape from the hustle and bustle of city life. Question 1. Do young people like to go to parks?

It really helps them stay connected and feel less lonely in the middle of a big city.

You see people from all walks of life—kids playing, buskers performing, or friends just hanging out. Without these spots, city life would feel much more claustrophobic and isolated.

Parks cater to both young and older generations by offering a space for relaxation, physical activity, and social interaction. Older people, on the other hand, can enjoy a low-impact environment for activities like walking, which helps them stay fit and feel socially engaged. These green spaces are shared resources that enhance everyone’s quality of life, so maintaining them is a collective responsibility. By disposing of waste properly, respecting park rules, and even volunteering for community clean-up, people can play an active role in preserving these areas. Relying solely on government efforts can be challenging, so community involvement is key to ensuring parks remain clean, safe, and enjoyable for all.
