Moreover, audiences nowadays are more discerning, so if the acting doesn’t feel genuine, even a star-studded cast can’t save a film from being a flop.

I think the primary reason is the immersive experience that only a cinema can provide. With a giant screen and a high-quality sound system, viewers can fully enjoy every detail of the movie, which is hard to replicate at home. Additionally, watching a film in a dark theater helps people avoid distractions like phone notifications or household chores, allowing them to completely lose themselves in the story.

In my opinion, the most important factor is a compelling storyline that can keep the audience engaged from start to finish. A successful movie also needs relatable characters that people can truly care about or see themselves in. Finally, while high-quality visuals are great, it’s the emotional impact—whether the film makes us laugh, cry, or think—that really determines its long-term success.

I believe films have a profound impact on society because they can raise awareness about important social issues. By watching diverse stories, people can develop empathy for different cultures and lifestyles that they might not encounter in real life. Essentially, a powerful movie can shape our perspective on what is right or wrong, often encouraging us to be more open-minded and compassionate.

To me, a film becomes a classic when it carries timeless themes that stay relevant no matter how much time passes. It’s not just about flashy effects, but about a profound message or a story that continues to touch people’s hearts across generations. Usually, these movies have such iconic characters and powerful storytelling that they become a part of our shared culture, making people want to re-watch them again and again.

Question 9. Do you believe that watching films from different cultures can promote intercultural understanding?

Absolutely. I believe that watching foreign films is like traveling through a screen, as it allows us to witness the traditions and daily lives of people from distant lands. By seeing their challenges and celebrations, we can break down stereotypes and find common ground, which significantly fosters mutual respect between different cultures. It’s a very accessible way to broaden our horizons without having to leave home.

Question 10. How has the way people watch films changed with the advent of streaming services and social media?

I think there’s been a massive shift from traditional cinemas to on-demand viewing at home. Thanks to streaming platforms, people can now enjoy a vast library of movies anytime and anywhere, which offers much more flexibility than fixed theater schedules. Furthermore, social media allows us to share instant reviews and interact with other fans, making the movie-watching experience more socially connected than ever before.

Question 11. Should governments or educational institutions use films as a tool for public education or awareness-raising?

I strongly believe they should, as films are an incredibly powerful medium for reaching a wide audience. Visual storytelling can make complex social or environmental issues much easier to grasp and more engaging than traditional lectures or pamphlets. By using documentaries or educational movies, institutions can raise awareness in a way that truly resonates with people and inspires them to take action.

I’d say I trust them to a certain extent, but I always take them with a grain of salt. While professional critics can offer insightful perspectives on a film’s technical quality, their tastes might differ from mine. Ultimately, movie reviews are just subjective opinions, so I prefer to use them as a guide rather than letting them dictate whether I should watch a film or not.

Question 13. Should the director pay a lot of money to famous actors?

I think it’s a strategic decision. Paying for a famous actor can be a smart investment because their huge fan base almost guarantees high ticket sales and media attention. However, directors should be careful not to overspend on stars at the expense of other vital elements, such as the script or visual effects, which are just as important for a film’s long-term success.
