Bài mẫu:

When it comes to a persuasive advertisement, one that really stood out to me was the “Share a Coke” campaign, which was a global success of Coca-Cola.

I first saw it 10 years ago on the Internet, during a time when everyone around me was talking about it. The idea was simple but brilliant – Coca-Cola replaced its iconic logo with popular names on its bottles and cans, encouraging people to find and share a Coke with someone they know. The ad I remember featured a series of short clips showing people excitedly searching for bottles with their friends’ names or even their own. It had a cheerful, social vibe, which made it feel more personal than just selling a product.

What made the ad so effective was how it created a sense of involvement. You didn’t just watch the ad – you participated in it by looking for your name or the names of people you care about. It turned a simple purchase into an experience. I felt that the campaign was really clever in making something as ordinary as buying a drink feel special. I was so impressed by the commercial that I actually ended up buying a bottle with my name on it.

All in all, this advertisement stuck with me as it showed how a creative idea can turn a regular product into something more meaningful and memorable.

Từ vựng:

  • stand out (phrasal verb) nổi bật
  • feature (v)  mô tả những nét nổi bật
  • a sense of involvement (noun phrase) cảm giác bị thu hút, lôi cuốn vào
  • something sticks with somebody (phrasal verb) khiến ai nhớ mãi

III. Describe an advertisement which you found very persuasive part 3

Bài mẫu part 3 Describe an advertisement which you found very persuasive

Bài mẫu part 3 Describe an advertisement which you found very persuasive

1. Question 1: Why do some people hate advertisements?

Well, there are a few reasons why people might dislike ads. First off, they can be really annoying. I mean, they constantly interrupt what you’re doing, whether you’re watching a movie or browsing the web, which is a real pain in the neck. Plus, a lot of ads feel like they’re trying to manipulate you into buying stuff you don’t need. And then there’s the fact that ads can be deceptive. Sometimes they make products seem way better than they actually are. It’s frustrating to get your hopes up only to be disappointed.

Từ vựng:

  • a real pain in the neck (idiom) một điều khó chịu, bực bội
  • manipulate somebody into doing something (v) lôi kéo ai đó làm gì
  • deceptive (a) lừa dối
  • get your hopes up: mong chờ điều tốt đẹp diễn ra

2. Question 2: Do people usually buy stuff after watching advertisements?

It’s a tricky question. On the one hand, ads are designed to persuade people to buy things, so it’s understandable that some people do make purchases based on what they see, especially if the ad is really catchy or if the product seems to solve a problem they have. However, I think that most people are becoming more savvy in advertising tactics. Therefore, while ads might influence us to some extent, I don’t think they’re as powerful as they used to be.

Từ vựng:

  • savvy  (a) hiểu biết
  • advertising tactics (noun phrase) chiến thuật tiếp thị

3. Question 3: What makes an advertisement persuasive?

A persuasive advertisement typically incorporates several key elements. First, a good ad has to grab your attention, maybe with strong visuals, compelling storytelling, or a memorable slogan. Once you’re engaged, the ad should connect with you on a personal level, evoking emotions like happiness, desire, or fear. Finally, it’s crucial that the ad clearly communicates how the product or service meets the audience’s needs.

Từ vựng:

  • incorporate (v) kết hợp
  • compelling (a) hấp dẫn, thuyết phục
  • evoke (v) khơi gợi, gợi lên

4. Question 4: Is music useful in advertising?

Yes, music is definitely a powerful tool in advertising. It can evoke strong emotions in viewers, which helps create a lasting impression. A great example is that classic Coca-Cola jingle. It’s so catchy and upbeat that it instantly makes you think of happiness and refreshment. That’s the power of music – it makes advertisements more engaging and memorable.

Từ vựng:

  • a lasting impression (n) ấn tượng lâu dài
  • upbeat (a) lạc quan, vui vẻ

5. Question 5: Are people more influenced by TV advertisements or internet advertisements?

Well, I think people are more influenced by internet advertisements these days. First, internet ads are more targeted. They track our browsing habits and show us things we’re already interested in. For example, if you’ve been searching for shoes, you’ll start seeing ads for shoes on every website or app you use. Also, internet ads are often interactive; you can click on them and immediately learn more or even make a purchase, which makes them more persuasive. That’s a lot more effective than TV ads, which are more general and might not even be relevant to what you want. So, overall, I’d say the internet has a bigger impact.

Từ vựng:

  • make a purchase : mua sắm
